Mastic or Lentisque essential oil is a bright, heady, terpene-like herbal aroma with warm, spicy woody & balsamic undertones. It can have a sharp camphor-like aroma when newly distilled that relaxes & rounds out over time. This tree is in the pistachio family and related to the sumac and is indigenous to the Mediterranean. Mastic essential oil is rich in monoterpenes like alpha & beta pinenes. Suitable for perfumery & aromatherapy.
